Hyundai Duty Free passport verification, collection-area guidance, and accessible kiosk screens

The service in context

An accessible kiosk project for Hyundai Duty Free’s collection service at Incheon Airport. Travelers identify their purchase with a passport or barcode, find the relevant collection point, and receive queue information. PLITSOFT’s delivery covered the customer kiosk, administrator widgets, and digital signage. The project brings the traveler’s next action and the airport’s operational touchpoints into one delivery.

How people use it

  1. Identify the purchase

Choose passport scanning or purchase-barcode scanning. A separate passport-number entry screen provides an on-screen keyboard. The opening screen offers Korean, English, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese.

  2. Find the collection point

A checking screen explains that customer information is being retrieved. Directions combine the terminal and collection-zone name with a floor illustration. An unsuccessful lookup directs the traveler to the collection counter.

  3. Collect a queue ticket

The printing screen separates the queue number, waiting count, and collection-point details. It tells travelers to show the printed purchase barcode to staff, connecting self-service with the counter visit.

Capabilities and implementation scope

  • Customer and operations interfaces

We developed the kiosk, administrator widgets, and digital signage. This covers both customer interaction and supporting operational screens.

  • Accessible controls

The interface exposes lowered-screen mode, high contrast, magnification, audio, and assistance controls. These remain part of the navigation surrounding the main task.

  • Explicit process states

Scanning, manual entry, checking, missing records, directions, and printing each have their own screen. Back and home actions help travelers understand and navigate the sequence.
